About the role
The Navy Exchange Service Command in Silverdale, WA is seeking a Fabric Worker (Tailor) to support the needs of military personnel and their families. The position requires access to military bases or U.S. citizenship.
Responsibilities
- Mounts medals and sews items on uniform as appropriate
- Makes alternations and repairs to uniform and civilian garments
- Takes customer body measurements for proper garment fit
- Measures the correct placement of items to be affixed, marks, trims, bastes, and presses upon completion
- Operates a sewing machine
Requirements
- One year of experience in the use of a sewing machine to perform alternations and repairs to garments
- Able to pass appropriate background checks for the specific area of responsibility, such as a Federal DOD Security Clearance
