About the Role

Pratt & Whitney’s (P&W) Compression Systems Engineering (CSE) group, designers of advanced Fans and High Pressure Compressors, is seeking a highly-motivated Senior Engineer to join its team in support of the F135 Sustainment Program at Tinker AFB, OK.

Compression Systems Engineering is responsible for the design, development, and in-service support of all fans, low-pressure, and high-pressure compressors for commercial and military engine models. CSE is also responsible for the identification and maturation of new technologies for these products. Technical disciplines in CSE include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, and Product Definition.

Responsibilities

  • Work as the onsite Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul Engineer supporting engine/hardware investigations and dispositions.
  • Support and participate in projects aimed at implementing designs, inspections, and repairs that meet advanced engine-specific requirements in operational service.
  • Interface directly with the customer, the Joint Program Office of the Air Force, Navy, and Marines.
  • Conduct inspections and summarize and document findings in accordance with P&W procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience OR Advanced Degree in Engineering with 3+ years relevant experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Advanced Degree in engineering.
  • Design and/or Structures experience.
  • Knowledge of composite design and analysis technology, as well as manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with non-destructive testing methods for composites.
  • Strong communication, presentation, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

Pay

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Schedule

This position is classified as onsite. Employees in onsite roles will work primarily onsite. Commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
