Reports to: F&B Beverage Shift Lead

About the Role

Provide friendly, excellent service to every guest who approaches the bar while preparing and pouring drinks for guests and beverage servers, ensuring all applicable laws and regulations with respect to the safe and responsible sale and service of alcoholic beverages are strictly adhered to.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with applicable Tribal, Federal, and other laws and gaming regulations, as well as Kickapoo Lucky Eagle policies and procedures.
  • Deliver the highest standards of guest service by properly listening and responding to guest and team member concerns and questions.
  • Maintain a consistent flow of service to guests, cocktail servers, and food servers.
  • Approach and welcome guests upon arrival, use guest names during interactions, remember preferences, and thank guests while inviting them to return.
  • Prepare beverages promptly and professionally to specification with speed and accuracy, using approved measuring tools and techniques.
  • Process all sales transactions accurately and immediately, presenting receipts for credit card transactions or as requested by guests.
  • Continuously monitor the bar to ensure timely beverage service for all guests.
  • Adhere to laws, policies, and procedures pertaining to the service and sale of alcoholic beverages, including verifying age for guests who appear under 30 and ensuring responsible service.
  • Observe guest behavior to prevent intoxication and disorderly conduct.
  • Handle guest issues promptly and professionally, communicating problems and concerns to management.
  • Maintain knowledge of menus, promotions, programs, and gaming options (Slots, Poker, Bingo) to inform guests.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitized, and orderly work environment in accordance with health and safety standards, including keeping the bar top clear and ensuring proper sanitation procedures.
  • Use personal protective equipment as required and operate/maintain all equipment and utensils safely.
  • Stock service wells, set up and break down the service well, and receive and stock products according to specifications.
  • Maintain a professional and neat appearance at all times with a courteous and friendly attitude toward team members and guests.
  • Fulfill bar-back responsibilities in their absence.
  • Accurately record all sales in the POS system and collect funds for products sold.
  • Submit all financial receipts for end-of-shift reports.
  • Demonstrate and promote KLECH core values and MAD skills.
  • Manage and maintain the security of confidential information.
  • Attend and complete all required training as assigned.
  • Monitor compliance with Federal currency transaction reporting requirements, Title 31, IRS Currency Transaction Reports, and Anti-Money Laundering policies. Maintain accurate MTL, MIL, CTR, and SAR records as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain current TABC certification.
  • Bartender Certification or a minimum of one year of bartender experience preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of wine and alcohol beverage preparation preferred.
  • Strong communication skills in English (written and oral); Spanish or other language skills a plus.
  • Ability to understand and accept the risks involved with this position.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand, sit, walk, push, pull, climb, and bend for extended periods.
  • Must be able to concentrate for prolonged periods.
  • Requires close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in person or via telecommunications equipment.
  • Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to operate keyboards, touch-screen displays, telephones, and calculators.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment

  • Casino floor and normal office setting.
  • Frequent walking and standing in a smoke-filled environment with regular contact with the general public.
  • Temperature-controlled environment with varying noise levels; may be exposed to high noise levels throughout the day.
  • Extended hours and irregular shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and work long hours under stressful conditions.
  • May be exposed to risks when resolving issues with difficult guests or irate staff members.
  • May be exposed to various types of lighting, including artificial, fluorescent, flashing, strobe, and colored lights.
  • Travel may be required to perform essential functions of the position.
