About the role

Provide friendly, excellent service to every guest who approaches the bar while preparing and pouring drinks for guests and beverage servers. Ensure compliance with applicable Tribal, Federal and gaming regulations and Kickapoo Lucky Eagle policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the highest possible standards of guest service by listening and responding to guest and team member concerns and questions.
  • Ensure a consistent flow of service to guests, cocktail servers and food servers.
  • Approach guests and welcome them upon arrival; use guest names during interactions and remember preferences; thank guests, offer farewells and invite guests to return.
  • Promptly and professionally prepare beverages to specification with speed and accuracy using approved measuring tools and techniques.
  • Process all sales transactions accurately and immediately; present sales receipts for credit card transactions or as requested by guests.
  • Continuously monitor bar to ensure all guests receive beverage service in a timely manner.
  • Abide by laws, policies and procedures pertaining to the service and sale of alcoholic beverages; require evidence of age for guests appearing under 30; ensure responsible service to prevent intoxication and disorderly conduct.
  • Promptly handle guest issues and communicate problems and concerns to management.
  • Maintain knowledge of menus, promotions, programs and gaming options; provide guests with relevant information.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitized and orderly work environment in accordance with health and safety standards; keep bar top clear and ashtrays clean and properly placed.
  • Follow proper sanitation procedures and use personal protective equipment as required.
  • Operate and maintain all equipment and utensils in accordance with established guidelines and safety procedures.
  • Stock service wells, set up and break down service well, and receive all product and stock according to specifications.
  • Maintain a professional and neat appearance at all times; display a courteous and friendly attitude to all team members and guests.
  • Fulfill bar back responsibilities in the absence of a bar-back.
  • Accurately record all sales in POS system; collect funds for all products sold; submit all financial receipts for end-of-shift reports.
  • Demonstrate and promote KLECH core values and MAD skills.
  • Manage and maintain security of confidential information entrusted to the position.
  • Attend and satisfactorily complete all required training as assigned.
  • Monitor compliance with Federal currency transaction reporting requirements, Title 31, IRS Currency Transaction Reports and property-established Anti-Money Laundering policies; maintain accurate MTL, MIL, CTR and SAR as needed.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain current TABC certification.
  • Bartender Certification or a minimum of one (1) year bartender experience preferred.
  • Ability to understand and accept the risks involved with this position.
  • In-depth wine and alcohol beverage preparation knowledge preferred.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and oral; Spanish or other language skills a plus.
  • Qualified Kickapoo Traditional Tribe of Texas Members and qualified Native American preference is observed.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow established casino guest service programs.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand, sit, walk, push, pull, climb and bend for extended periods; reach with hands and arms; talk and listen on a regular basis.
  • Ability to concentrate for prolonged periods.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person or via telecommunications equipment.
  • Hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to operate keyboard, touch-screen display, telephone and calculator.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment

  • Casino floor and normal office setting; frequent walking and standing in a smoke-filled environment with frequent contact with the general public.
  • Temperature-controlled environment with varying noise levels; may be exposed to high levels of noise throughout the day.
  • Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • May be exposed to risks associated with resolving issues with difficult guests and irate staff members.
  • May be exposed to various types of lighting including artificial fluorescent lights, flashing lights, strobe lights and multiple colored lights.
  • Travel may be required to perform essential functions.

Conditions of Employment

  • Ability to obtain and retain a KTTT Gaming Commission License, including successful completion of background check.
  • Must be able to provide authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation to commute to and from work.
  • Must comply with KLEC handbook, internal policies and procedures, and gaming regulations.
  • Must participate in tip reporting program.
