Exterior Finisher, Painter

About the role

Paint the Sky is seeking an Exterior Finisher, Painter at a premier aviation team. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring aircraft meet exacting standards for appearance, durability, and performance.

Responsibilities

• Perform surface preparation on aircraft and components, ensuring proper adhesion and finish
• Apply primer, topcoat, and final spray coatings to aircraft exteriors
• Polish and refine painted surfaces for a flawless finish
• Inspect finished work, perform touch-ups, and ensure quality standards are met
• Install sealants and erosion tape as required
• Lay out aircraft according to customer specifications
• Follow all safety, environmental, and quality procedures
• Document completed work in accordance with manuals and aviation regulations
• Participate in workplace organization and safety programs (5S, EHS compliance)

Requirements

• 3+ years of corporate or commercial painting experience (aviation preferred)
• Note: Automotive and helicopter experience not accepted
• Ability to obtain respirator certification (Pulmonary Function evaluation required)
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with maintenance manuals and IPCs
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Knowledge of hazardous material handling regulations
• Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork

Preferred Qualifications

• Formal vocational training or equivalent experience
• Experience working in hangar or production settings
• Strong customer service mindset and attention to detail

Pay

$27.00 to $43.00 per hour
