Extended Day Program Coordinator (Regular Part-time)

Reports to: Enrichment and Extended Day Program Manager
Work Schedule: Annual M-F 12:00 - 6:00 p.m.
Consults with: Auxiliary Team, Supervisor, Faculty, Staff, Parents, Students
Position Summary
The role of Extended Program Coordinator will support the LJA mission statement and implementation of the summer and/or after school programs, model the school-wide Agreements and the attributes of the IB Learner Profile, exhibit courteous behavior and a sense of professionalism at all times, and demonstrate an enjoyment of working with children. The role of Program Coordinator is to support the daily operations of the PK-8 Extended day and summer enrichment programs. Ideal candidates are proactive, dependable, organized, and enjoy working collaboratively in a fast-paced school environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage, Supervise students in sibling care.
- Support positive behavior management, student engagement, and structured routines for PK-8 students after school.
- Affirming activities align with LJA policies, procedures and mission.
- Aid the manager with meetings, orientations, on-going training and new hire onboarding for Extended day staff.
- Communicate with the Auxiliary team, Supervisor and Extended Day team daily.
- Checks and responds daily to emails.
- Aid the Manager with DHS compliance documentation, track training hours and digital registration forums.
- Aid on the playground and in classrooms after school as needed.
- Follow all school policies and procedures detailed in the Employee Handbook and other duties as specified by the Supervisor.
Qualifications
- Required: 2 years of College
Valid Preschool/ECE certification (must be obtained within one year of employment as a condition of continued employment). - Required: 6-12 months experience working with children in a school setting.
- Required: 6-12 months experience developing and implementing activities for students.
- Able to efficiently manage attendance records, spreadsheets, email communication, and digital documentation systems.
Education
- Preferred: Associates Degree in early child education or family studies.
- OR Bachelor Degree earned with 6 credits of Early Childhood credits or willing to obtain within one year of employment.
