Export Agent

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Export Agent to join their team at their New York office, located near JFK Airport. This is a great opportunity for an export professional to join a high‑paced, team‑oriented environment, taking ownership of export shipments from pickup through to delivery.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate export shipments from pickup through to delivery
• Provide customer service via phone and email
• Prepare agent and client quotations
• Negotiate rates with carriers and vendors
• Issue airway bills, truck bills of lading, and other transportation documents (direct and consol)
• Prepare all necessary export documentation
• Ensure compliance with CBP, FAA, TSA, and other export‑related regulatory agencies

Requirements

• 3‑5 years’ experience in export transportation/freight forwarding
• Strong understanding of US export regulations and related transportation authority requirements
• Hands‑on experience using CargoWise
• Competent with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and general PC operations
• Experience with Letters of Credit is a plus
• Experience with Hazardous Materials is a plus
• Punctual, organized, and reliable
• Strong communicator, able to work effectively in a high‑paced team environment

Pay

$55,000‑$70,000, depending on experience.

Schedule

Monday‑Friday, with flexible start options (8:00 am‑5:00 pm, 8:30 am‑5:30 pm, or 9:00 am‑6:00 pm).
