Import/Export Agent
About the Role
I.K. Hofmann is seeking an ambitious and detail-oriented Import Export Agent for a long-term contract position in Dallas, Texas, at a cargo facility. This role involves performing fast-paced warehouse cargo work under supervision, with flexibility to work different shifts.
Responsibilities
- Processes export and import inquiries as per client requirements and procedures, including discrepancies at acceptance.
- Prepares and finalizes outbound flights/trucks.
- Handles import documentation (delivery, transfer, and abandoned shipments).
- Processes all Air Waybills and HAWBs, ensuring accurate data capture as per client requirements.
- Handles Special Cargo.
- Performs Service Recovery activities (tracing, warehouse checks, offloads).
- Supports quality standards and works according to documented CHM and GOM procedures.
- Observes and applies security requirements of the client and local authorities.
- Contacts customers to inform them of any irregularities.
- Communicates with employees to give instructions and exchange accurate information.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned based on business needs.
Requirements
- Education: GED/High School desired.
- Work Environment: Office setting, often sharing the same workspace with others.
- Job Essential Functions:
- Must remain in a stationary position 75%-100% of the time (8-12.5-hour shifts).
- Occasionally moves about inside the office and/or warehouse to access invoices, office machinery, etc.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery.
- Occasionally moves documents weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Constantly positions oneself to maintain computers, including under desks and in the server closet.
Qualifications
Must be eligible to work in the United States for any company without sponsorship.
Pay
Starting at $17.00 - $19.50, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
