Expert Contributor - Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services (Professional & Technical) (Task-Based)
About the role
Snorkel AI is a data development company spun out of the Stanford AI Lab, focused on improving the truthfulness and reasoning abilities of advanced AI systems. This ongoing project-based opportunity will allow you to help shape the next generation of AI models by designing challenging tasks, stress-testing AI agents, and providing expert feedback that steers model behavior toward ideal solutions. No prior AI experience is required.
We are looking for experts in Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services with the ability to design and solve challenging, real-world reasoning tasks that test the limits of advanced AI systems. Contributors will create high-quality problems, develop rigorous solutions, and help identify where models fail in legal, financial, and technical reasoning. The work emphasizes real-world engagement difficulty, professional precision, and reproducible evaluation.
Responsibilities
- Design realistic, multi-step problems drawn from live client, advisory, or design work.
- Produce precise, fully worked solutions to professional and technical services problems.
- Identify subtle drafting, accounting, or technical errors in AI-generated outputs.
- Spot missing protections, omitted requirements, or suboptimal solution paths.
- Suggest more rigorous approaches and evaluate competing solution paths across multiple turns of conversation.
Requirements
- Deep fluency in Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services practice.
- A professional license, certification, or advanced degree in the relevant discipline, plus several years of hands-on experience as a licensed professional, consultant, or technical specialist.
- Background in one or more of: law, accounting and auditing, management analysis, architecture (excluding landscape and naval), chemical engineering, or veterinary medicine.
- Strong review instincts and ability to assess professional-quality work.
- Must be eligible for remote 1099 contractor status and not reside in California.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with contract drafting and standard boilerplate, assignment and novation mechanics, audit and workpaper standards, code-compliant design documentation, or client deliverables produced under professional-responsibility rules.
Schedule
Work independently from anywhere with no fixed hours commitment. Engagements are part-time and project-based on an as-needed basis.
Pay
Compensation is per accepted task rather than hourly, with payments up to $250 per completed task. Experts earn at least $15 per hour for work performed but have the opportunity to earn more based on productivity and quality.
