Responsibilities
- Safely operate skid steer loaders to perform tasks such as lifting, loading, and moving materials.
- Use various attachments (e.g., buckets, forks, augers) to accomplish different tasks.
- Prepare sites by clearing debris and grading the ground.
- Maintain equipment, ensuring it is clean, fueled, and functioning properly.
- Load and unload materials from trucks or other transportation vehicles.
- Transport materials around the job site.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Conduct pre-operational checks and report any issues or malfunctions.
- Coordinate with other workers and supervisors to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
- Communicate effectively regarding progress, issues, and any necessary adjustments.
- Maintain logs or reports of equipment usage, maintenance, and any incidents or issues encountered.
- Stay updated on new equipment, attachments, and techniques.
- Participate in training sessions and certifications as required.
- Assist with other tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Thorough operational knowledge and skills of related equipment to be operated.
- Must have 3 years previous experience.
- Pass pre-employment screen and criminal background check.
- Be willing to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas.
- Great attention to detail and stress tolerance.
- 2-5 years experience as a skid steer operator or any related job in a construction or mining industry.
