About the role
Join us as a Skid Steer Operator in Buffalo and help bring materials to life in a workplace where health and safety always come first.
Responsibilities
- Operate a skid steer and forklift to move, stockpile, load, and feed recyclable materials into conveyor systems.
- Sort, grade, and manually handle specialty materials according to quality standards and team goals.
- Conduct pre-shift equipment checks, complete paperwork, and immediately report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Assist with receiving incoming loads, directing facility traffic, and maintaining clean, safe work areas.
- Strictly follow environmental regulations, company policies, and look out for pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
Requirements
- 3+ months of experience operating a skid steer or similar mobile equipment (forklift or loader experience is a plus).
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, industrial environment with excellent situational awareness.
- Comfort working in indoor/outdoor settings with exposure to dust, noise, machinery, and changing weather.
- Physical ability to meet the demands of the role: sitting, standing, climbing in/out of equipment, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong safety mindset and willingness to wear required PPE at all times (including 6-inch steel-toed boots).
- Basic communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a collaborative team attitude.
