Experienced RN Senior Level III: Southeast 4-Short-stay Surgical Unit

About the role

The Senior Level III RN provides expert patient care, serves as a unit staff mentor, and supports peers in the delivery of patient care. This position also includes responsibilities such as staff orientation, patient care coordination, shift charge nurse, and other unit/service/nursing department, or hospital practice activities.

Responsibilities

• Provides expert patient care, including service to patients with complex needs.
• Serves as a unit staff mentor and assumes additional responsibilities as assigned by the Nurse Manager.
• Supports peers in the delivery of patient care, uses and role models team communication methods, and coaches others in team communication principles.
• Documents care that reflects the patient condition and priorities and coaches others to use professional and complete documentation.
• Supports team problem solving and identifies opportunities for self-growth and the development of other learners.
• Contributes to a safe unit environment and operations by interpreting policy and procedures, sharing new evidence with peers, adhering to standards, monitoring care and operational outcomes, and supporting efficiencies in care.
• Demonstrates enhanced critical decision-making and conflict management skills and identifies learning needs of others and patient safety issues.

Requirements

• 3-5 years recent RN expertise in an acute care setting.
• Licensed by New York State to practice as a Registered Nurse.
• Current CPR certification (American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers preferred).
• BS in nursing preferred.
• Senior III RN must have a current earned professional nursing certification recognized by the professional organization and listed as an accepted certification on Highland Nursing policy Addendum LL to the Nursing Structure Standards.

Pay

PAY RANGE: $44.17 - $56.27

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
