About the role

We are looking for a current or recently active in-house recruiter or talent sourcer to participate in a short-term product research project. We are researching how recruiters evaluate resumes, cover letters, and application answers, particularly as AI-assisted applications become more common. Your feedback will help us design tools that produce more useful, accurate, and recruiter-friendly candidate materials.

What you’ll help us understand

  • What makes a recruiter advance, deprioritize, or reject an application
  • Which resume changes improve relevance and which appear excessive or unnatural
  • How recruiters evaluate cover letters and written application answers
  • Which application questions commonly cause candidates to be rejected
  • How candidate materials are parsed and presented inside major ATS platforms
  • How recruiters use filtering, knockout questions, application-review criteria, candidate ranking, fraud signals, and AI-assisted screening
  • What recruiters consider acceptable and unacceptable uses of AI in an application

Responsibilities

  • Participate in two or three remote research sessions
  • Review and compare sample resumes, cover letters, and application answers
  • Explain how you review and prioritize inbound applicants
  • Describe your application-review workflow inside the ATS platforms you have used
  • Provide direct, practical feedback on product concepts and improvements

Requirements

  • Currently working, or recently worked, as an in-house recruiter, talent sourcer, or talent acquisition professional
  • At least two years of recruiting or sourcing experience
  • Regularly reviewed inbound job applications
  • Hands-on recruiter-side experience with Greenhouse, Workday, Ashby, or Lever
  • Familiarity with resume parsing, knockout questions, auto-rejection rules, candidate scoring, AI-assisted review, or fraud signals is helpful

Agency recruiters may be considered, but recent in-house recruiting experience is strongly preferred.

Pay

$40 per hour

Schedule

Approximately 5–10 hours initially, with a flexible remote schedule. Potential for additional research or advisory projects.
