Experienced Client / Project Manager

About the role

Mead & Hunt is seeking a full-time Experienced Client / Project Manager to join our Aviation Midwest group. This position is available at any of the following office locations: Middleton, WI (greater Madison area); West Allis (Milwaukee area); or De Pere, WI.

Responsibilities

• Lead project teams, including management of scope development and execution.
• Collaborate with clients and partner agencies to solve challenges and deliver complex infrastructure improvements through communication and innovative engineering solutions.
• Partner with upper management in business development by pursuing and leading opportunities and winning work.
• Prepare reports, budgets, cost estimates, specifications, plans, schedules, studies, and permits related to planning and engineering design.
• Lead proactive client interactions and communications with federal programming and state and government agencies.
• Perform QA/QC tasks.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance for less experienced technical staff.
• Maintain familiarity with technical requirements and regulations affecting the aviation industry and other potential consulting opportunities.
• Other duties as assigned.

A valid driver’s license and approximately 10% - 20% travel will be required.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree or higher in civil engineering or a related field from an accredited college or university.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in transportation, airport, or municipal engineering.

Qualifications

• At least 10 or more years of relevant experience is highly preferred.
• PE license is preferred.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Experience with:
  • Leading airport design projects (taxiways, aprons, runways, etc.).
  • Serving as the project manager on airport planning and design projects.
  • Mentoring and leading engineering project teams.
  • Preparing scope of work, fees, contracts, plans, specifications, capital improvement plans, program management, or related experience.
  • Performing QA/QC reviews.
  • Performing business development activities.
