Experienced Asphalt Heavy Equipment Operator

About the role

We are seeking applicants for the position of Experienced Asphalt Operator to work with road construction and highway paving crews in the Upstate, SC area. The successful candidate will have familiarity and experience working in road building and operating a paver, with an uncompromising focus on safety excellence.

Full-time position with wages starting at $21/hr, adjusted based on experience. Overtime is required as needed and may include Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Operate various pieces of equipment as needed, such as a bobcat, skid steer, haul truck, dozer, and trackhoe.
• Receive training in various production positions and fill in as needed during vacations, absences, and increased production demand.
• Run water truck to control dust on roadways.
• Report equipment problems to management and assist in maintaining quarry and equipment.
• Complete daily inspections and equipment pre-shift reports, if applicable.
• Perform daily pre- and post-inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
• Assist other workers as needed or directed, and perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• General mechanical knowledge.
• Ability to maintain safe working conditions.
• Self-starter with the ability to work without close supervision.
• Previous experience working in a mining environment preferred.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
