Stantec is seeking a Project Heavy Equipment Operator– Ecological Construction to implement construction work in the ecological restoration fields. This position requires implementing a high-quality product, interpreting construction plans/ specifications, adherence to Stantec’s Health and Safety culture and helping to ensure projects are built successfully. Position will require overnight travel 3 to 4 nights per week 75 - 80 % of the year. Your Key Responsibilities Performing equipment operations for construction projects n the field and working closely with Project Superintendent to implement projectsBe a competent operator on Excavator, Track Loader, Bulldozer, Off Road Trucks and Skid SteerWork sound and with subcontractors in the fieldPerform excavation and grading, placement of rock and water structures, native planting, seeding, erosion control installation, mowing, herbicide application and/or any other activities necessary for the implementation ecological restoration projectsConducting administrative duties such as daily equipment inspections/checks.Adhering to corporate policies, operate through the proper management channels, and act in the best interest of firm Your Capabilities and Credentials Wetland and stream mitigation/restoration experience (Preferred)Ability to understand and interpret construction plans and drawingsKnowledge of environmental/ecological field restoration techniques (Preferred)Ability to operate a Trimble R2 and other GPS survey equipment as necessary (Preferred) Education and Experience High School diploma or GEDMinimum 10 years of experience in similar roles This description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that may be required of the employee and other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or may be changed at any time with or without notice. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
