About the role
Action Asphalt, LLC is a Michigan-based private corporation established in 1978. We provide full-service asphalt paving services including asphalt paving, re-surfacing, repairs, seal coating, parking lot striping, sport court and tennis court installation and color coating. We serve residential, commercial, industrial, municipal, and state needs. We are the distributor for Seal Master Products and are continually upgrading our fleet of trucks and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Field experience with digging operations in rural and urban areas around utilities.
- Responsible for daily maintenance on construction equipment used.
- Ability to operate equipment, including but not limited to backhoe, excavator, skid-steer, vibratory roller, or paver.
- Perform routine labor (potholing, set-up of equipment, conduit/duct/cable placement, set pedestals) as required.
- Drive vehicle/trailer hauling equipment to and around job site.
- Able to assist with all aspects of the job including basic labor responsibilities.
Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License, Chauffer's required.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment screenings.
- Demonstrated field experience operating backhoe, excavator, cable plow, or track hoe around utilities.
- Able to work in a team environment.
- Willingness to learn.
- Able to maintain equipment and hand tools.
- Able to read, comprehend and carry out instructions.
- Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to abide all company and manufacturer safety procedures and industry safety standards, in addition to attending mandatory safety meetings.
Qualifications
- Work Experience: Demonstrated field experience with digging operations around utilities in rural and urban areas. Must have experience operating utility construction equipment including but not limited to backhoe, mini excavator, cable plow, or track hoe.
- Industry Knowledge: General knowledge of utility construction procedures, including print reading. Knowledge of or familiarity with all procedures and associated tools and equipment necessary to perform in the most effective, safe, and profitable manner.
Skills
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as backhoe, excavator, skid-steer, vibratory roller, or paver.
- Basic labor skills including potholing, set-up of equipment, conduit/duct/cable placement, set pedestals.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Team player and willing to learn new tasks.
- Good manual dexterity and ability to maintain equipment and hand tools.
