Main Duties And Responsibilities
- Interfaces with outside vendors to schedule/expedite outside processing jobs.
- Helps provide on-line job status for major customers.
- Responds to customer needs by checking status on jobs; helps resolve customer complaints.
- Checks status on the hot sheet on a continuing basis.
- Follows up on priority jobs.
- Locates Purchase Order Changes on the floor.
- Expedites orders on the floor; locates Manufacturing Plans in Engineering or Customer Service, as needed, to follow up on job status.
- Updates/reprioritizes Manufacturing Plans by locating, re-stamping and finding material for jobs, which could not be located initially.
- Helps oversee day-to-day activities in the warehouse; Performs back-up duties in the warehouse (issues pulls stocks, receives remnants, receives overruns, receives make stocks, performs cycle counts etc.)
- Issues requisitions for material to fill min-max levels in the warehouse; creates material requests for material needed.
- Additional Duties, as assigned.
Requirements
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered. Typical qualifications would be:
- Two-three years of stockroom experience.
- Previous forklift experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Ability to interface and work effectively with customers and with employees in all levels/departments; must be able to handle irate customers/employees effectively.
- Prefer previous computer data entry experience and some knowledge of raw materials.
- High school diploma or GED preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Requirements
- Strong math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals) to be able to calculate how many parts can be manufactured from a sheet of material, etc.
- Ability to function in high-pressure situations.
- Ability to learn quickly and retain knowledge to be able to constantly revise/update priorities based on production status.
- Manual dexterity to operate forklift, pallet jack, dolly and 10 key.
- Correctable vision and hearing.
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, bend, twist and lift up to 50 lbs., etc.
- Ability to maneuver successfully through a 33,000 square foot, ground level, single-story manufacturing facility.
