Expanded Function Dental Assistant - Relief

Responsibilities

• Maintaining patient records and updating medical histories
• Performing dental X-ray procedures and managing digital records
• Assisting with periodontal charting, preparing instruments, and supporting patient exams
• Mixing materials with infection control awareness
• Providing preventative periodontal care and oral hygiene education
• Supporting infection control protocols and sterilization processes
• Assisting with orthodontic procedures and related tasks
• Managing department workflow, acting as liaison, and training staff as needed
• Performing other duties aligned with healthcare standards and regulations

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GEDEFDA certification within 90 days of employment
• BLS certification within 90 days
• Optional registration as a Surgical Technologist if assisting in the operating room
• Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) preferred for additional pay
• Knowledge of dental terminology, materials, infection control, and oral health instruction
• Manual dexterity and professional interaction skills
• Basic proficiency in electronic records and Microsoft Office tools
