Expanded Function Dental Assistant - Relief

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update patient records and vital signs.
• Perform comprehensive X-ray procedures and intraoral photography, then store images electronically.
• Conduct periodontal charting, prepare instruments, and assist with patient exams.
• Mix materials with infection control awareness.
• Provide preventative periodontal care and oral hygiene education in clinics and mobile programs.
• Ensure infection control protocols, sterilize instruments, and maintain sterile environments.
• Assist with orthodontic procedures and manage department flow, including training staff and acting as liaison.
• Adhere to clinical standards and regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• EFDA certification within 90 days of employment.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish (level 10).
• Basic knowledge of dental terminology, materials, infection control, and oral health education.
• Manual dexterity and effective communication skills.
• Proficiency with dental software and Microsoft Office.

Compensation

$26.02-$33.14/hour DOE, with additional pay for bilingual skills.
