Expanded Function Dental Assistant

Key Responsibilities

• Maintaining patient records and updating medical histories
• Performing complete X-ray procedures and managing intraoral imaging
• Conducting periodontal charting and preparing instruments for exams
• Assisting with patient exams, mixing materials, and ensuring infection control
• Providing preventive periodontal care and oral hygiene education
• Supporting orthodontic procedures and maintaining sterile environments
• Performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED
• Oregon EFDA certification within 90 days of employment
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days
• Bilingual skills (English/Spanish/Cantonese/Vietnamese) preferred
• Knowledge of dental terminology, infection control, and instruments
• Manual dexterity and computer proficiency with dental records and MS Office
