Expanded Function Dental Assistant

About the role

Join our team as an Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) responsible for supporting advanced clinical procedures, maintaining patient records, and assisting providers chairside to enhance dental care access.

Key Duties

• Performing radiographs, periodontal charting, and preparing instruments and materials for patient exams.
• Providing preventative care such as polishing, fluoride treatments, and sealants.
• Educating patients on oral hygiene and assisting in infection control protocols.
• Supporting orthodontic procedures, including record collection and retainer fabrication.
• Maintaining accurate electronic dental records and ensuring sterilization of instruments.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED.
• EFDA certification within 90 days of employment.
• BLS certification within 90 days.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred at a high proficiency level.
• Strong manual dexterity, professionalism, and basic computer skills.
