Required Skills

• Knowledge on proper use of hand tools and power tools.
• Some electrical skills.
• Can lift 30+ pounds and occasionally be around fumes and is ok with heights.
• Engineering, design, mechanical aptitude;
• Comfort with and interest in science and education;
• Both team-oriented and self-directed;
• Flexibility;
• Problem-solver;
• Professional in attitude and appearance;
• Energetic, enthusiastic.

Qualifications

• Must be a currently-enrolled community college, 4-year college or university student in good academic standing.
• Experience in any of the following areas is beneficial but not required: Acting, Advanced Automatics and Robotics Technology; Biotechnology; Computer Science; Database Management & Administration; Education; Electronics & Computer Technology; Engineering; General Studies; Informatics; Information Technology Support; Liberal Arts; Server Administration; Software Development and Visual Communications.

Schedule

Temporary intern position from the Fall 2026 through the spring of 2027. Typically 10-20 hours per week, about 400 hours total. Schedule will be flexible, with days and time to be agreed upon by the Exhibits and Facilities team and the Intern.

Wage

$14/hour.
