About the role
Internships are available for qualified students studying broadcast journalism, video production, and other communication degrees. Several departments may choose to accept interns, including but not necessarily limited to: News, Creative Services, Production, and Community Development.
Responsibilities
Interns will be well supervised and participate in a meaningful learning experience. Upon completion of the internship, the student will be evaluated through a written review by the internship supervisor.
Schedule
Each internship is for 16 hours per week for 15 weeks.
Requirements
- Must be a senior in their last year of concentrated study.
- Must possess an advanced skill level due to the complexity of projects.
- Must be a collaborative worker with a willingness to learn.
- Previous internship experience is a plus.
- Physical demands: must be able to sit, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, work near others, work outdoors occasionally in all weather conditions, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.
- Must be able to lift, set up, and operate equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, and can handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Repetitive movements are required.
- Work may be conducted in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions.
