About the role

IRG Physical & Hand Therapy is seeking motivated Exercise Specialists to join our team. This position offers hands-on clinical experience and the opportunity to gain valuable skills in physical therapy, occupational therapy, athletic training, or similar fields.

Responsibilities

  • Guide patients through therapist-prescribed exercise programs.
  • Aid with therapeutic modalities and treatment setup.
  • Provide encouragement and education to help patients achieve their goals.
  • Prepare, maintain, and clean a safe clinical environment.
  • Build positive, professional relationships with patients.
  • Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) and other clinic systems.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Health Sciences, or related field preferred.
  • Customer service or patient-facing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge and ability to demonstrate body mechanics, functional movement, and exercises.
  • Knowledge and adherence to HIPAA laws and compliance regulations.

Physical Demand/Work Conditions

  • Standing, walking, bending, reaching, squatting, lifting, pushing, and pulling throughout the workday.
  • Lifting up to 35 lbs.
  • Demonstrate exercises including but not limited to jumping, balancing on one leg, rotation of the shoulder in multiple planes, and using exercise bands.
  • Ability to properly transfer patients with use of good body mechanics while maintaining patient safety.

Pay and Benefits Information

  • Base salary: $19.77-$21 per hour depending on experience and location of clinic.
