EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR – Williamsburg, VA

About the role

The Williamsburg Redevelopment and Housing Authority seeks an experienced Executive Director to lead the organization in providing safe, decent, and affordable housing to low-income, elderly, and disabled residents.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the management and maintenance of 104 public housing units across four sites in Williamsburg.
• Ensure compliance with HUD regulations, Fair Housing laws, and other federal, state, and local requirements.
• Manage the 2017-18 operating budget of $753,594, supplemented by $300,000 of in-kind services from the City of Williamsburg.
• Work closely with the Board of Commissioners and City Council to address community needs and implement policies.
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance the quality of life for residents and promote economic development in the area.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in public housing, public administration, or a related field.
• Extensive experience as a public housing director or senior manager within a public housing authority or housing programs.
• Significant experience dealing with HUD regulations and requirements, Fair Housing, and other federal, state, and local requirements.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $77,000 - $115,000, with starting salary dependent upon qualifications and experience.
