Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive, multi-source fundraising strategy including grants, corporate sponsorships, individual giving, and planned giving.
- Cultivate and steward relationships with donors, foundations, and corporate partners.
- Oversee donor database (CRM) to track performance and drive growth.
- Lead or support grant writing and proposal development efforts.
- Provide strategic direction for fundraising events and secure high-level sponsorships.
- Maintain and evolve a compelling case for support aligned with organizational priorities.
- Ensure strong fiscal health through oversight of budgeting, cash flow, and financial planning.
- Develop and manage the annual operating budget in alignment with strategic goals.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, 501(c)(3) regulations, and funding requirements.
- Provide transparent and timely financial reporting to the Board and Finance Committee.
- Maintain internal financial controls and safeguard organizational assets.
- Serve as the primary spokesperson and public face of NSC.
- Build relationships with community leaders, stakeholders, and funders.
- Strengthen communications across digital platforms, media, and public presentations.
- Communicate organizational impact through storytelling and outreach.
- Partner with program leadership to design, implement, and evaluate impactful services.
- Ensure programs are safe, effective, and responsive to community needs.
- Monitor service data, outcomes, and utilization to inform decision-making.
- Drive marketing efforts to increase program awareness and participation.
- Build partnerships to enhance services and avoid duplication.
- Collaborate with the Board to ensure strong governance and strategic alignment.
- Support board development, recruitment, and committee engagement.
- Facilitate strategic planning and goal-setting processes.
- Maintain compliance with bylaws and organizational policies.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of staff and volunteers.
- Oversee hiring, performance management, and compensation practices.
- Foster a positive, mission-driven organizational culture.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience; prior nonprofit experience is ideal.
- Demonstrated success in fundraising, including grants, major gifts, and diversified revenue streams.
- Proven ability to create, manage, and analyze budgets and financials.
- Outstanding presentation, communication, and proposal writing skills; comfortable serving as lead spokesperson, relationship builder, and fundraiser.
- Excellence in organizational management with the ability to motivate, manage, and develop teams and work closely with a Board of Directors.
- Coalition building skills with the ability to build and sustain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Passion for serving older adults and a commitment to NSC’s mission.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree (MPA, MBA, or Nonprofit Management) preferred.
