About the role

Located in Darmstadt, Germany or Boston, MA, the Executive Director of Global Strategic Insights for Rare Tumors will partner with the Global Brand teams to proactively identify needs and opportunities to inform brand strategy. You will collaborate with Global Strategic Insights (GSI) and Commercial Excellence to execute primary market research, secondary market data analytics, competitive intelligence, and internal communication of key insights.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor above-market competitor activities (e.g., trials, data, conferences) and share insights with key leaders.
  • Generate market research to inform brand strategy and the long-term financial plan.
  • Shape competitive positioning strategies in alignment with Global Brand Leaders.
  • Communicate key competitive insights clearly and timely to leadership, the global team, and regional/country partners.
  • Actively engage with Global Brand Teams to align on key business questions and critical market intelligence needs.
  • Drive competitive monitoring and intelligence at global scientific meetings.
  • Demonstrate disease area and market knowledge while developing strong relationships with key customers.
  • Manage and strategically allocate the annual budget.
  • Provide input into long-range revenue forecasts.
  • Drive and consolidate brand analytics, developing global dashboards to convey brand performance, KPI achievement, and market performance indicators.
  • Support planning and preparation for internal governance committee meetings.
  • Foster an innovative mindset to approach tasks creatively.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (business or related disciplines).
  • 10+ years of pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology commercial experience; 8 years with a Master’s degree; or 6 years with a PhD.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of related experience in leadership roles in global marketing, market research, and/or competitive intelligence.

Qualifications

  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Oncology and/or rare disease experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of US and ex-US regulatory landscape and requirements.
  • Experience supporting business development activities and managing commercial partnerships or co-promotions.
  • Experience in brand planning, launch, and tactical planning.
  • Strong track record of influencing key stakeholders and leadership with and without authority.
  • Proven cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Clear and inspiring communicator able to engage, influence, and navigate cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Track record of high-energy, impactful presentations.
  • Demonstrated success in rapid-growth, fast-paced, or start-up environments.
  • Strong sense of urgency, organization, prioritization, and execution.
  • Team player with a strong track record of collaboration.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills for remote hybrid work environments.
  • Ability to travel occasionally, including overnight stays, as driven by business need.
  • Must be able to work East Coast hours.

Pay

Pay range for this position: $243,600 - $365,400. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors. Position may be eligible for sales or performance-based bonuses.
