The Executive Director, Forecasting and Analytics will be a strategic and results-driven leader. This role will be responsible for leading forecasting and broad business analytic services that will provide insights to support our business strategy and its ongoing execution. The Executive Director, Forecasting and Analytics, will provide strategic direction by transforming raw data into clear, actionable insights. This position will collaborate closely with senior leadership, Commercial and Market Access teams, Business Development, New Product Planning, and external stakeholders. The position reports to the VP, Business Insights and Analytics. We anticipate that this role will require up to 15% travel, including to our Lexington office.

Data Analytics

  • Leverage data analytics tools to generate actionable insights on market landscape, product performance, brand strategy, and competitive dynamics; translate findings into strategic initiatives.
  • Utilize data science techniques for advanced analytics to aid in field force targeting, patient identification, HCP referral networks.
  • Lead launch performance analytics including patient funnel tracking, treatment rates for accounts, and revenue metrics.

Forecasting

  • Build, challenge, and champion the forecast models across the full product pipeline; present a cohesive forecast story to senior leadership.
  • Execute NPV and sensitivity analyses to support pipeline and business development analytics.
  • Partner with finance to provide variance analysis and current year sales projections to be used internally and externally.

Patient Access

  • Leverage an in-depth understanding of managed care as a customer, to inform data-based decisions for managed care strategy.

Reporting

  • Develop and maintain PowerBI dashboards to communicate performance against KPIs; identify appropriate KPIs to meet business goals.
  • Perform ad hoc analyses on data sources.

Data Strategy

  • Determine which commercial data sources to utilize and procure to answer business questions, utilizing innovative data sources as technology evolves.
  • Ensure the data architecture is optimal for commercial KPIs and reporting, including hierarchies of accounts and HCP NPI-account linkages.
  • Oversee the integration of Veeva data with sales and claims data.
  • In conjunction with the field effectiveness team, recommend scope and requirements for CRM system and optimize the use of CRM data.
  • Partner closely with IT to establish and maintain robust data lake connectivity and scalable data infrastructure, ensuring seamless access to high-quality, integrated data assets that drive analytics.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing, cross-functional Forecasting and Analytics team.
  • Foster a collaborative, innovative, and results-driven culture within the team.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Commercial, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Finance, Business Development, and other departments to support business objectives, launch planning, and market access efforts.
  • Foster a culture of alignment and accountability.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required (advanced degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in data analytics, forecasting and data reporting within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
  • Proven track record in the rare disease space is preferred.
  • Experience with financial evaluations (NPV) and forecasting variance analysis.
  • Substantial hands-on experience with multiple pharmaceutical data sources and platforms (e.g., Komodo, IQVIA, other specialty/claims data providers, Veeva).
  • Proficiency using SQL and/or Python to query and manipulate data in cloud environments (e.g., Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric).
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
  • Strategic mindset with a bias for action and results.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and leading cross-functional initiatives.

Pay

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant, relevant years of experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from where they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

US Salary Range $275,000—$332,000 USD
