Qualifications
- 15+ years leading analytics, finance, business and/or operational initiatives
- 5+ years of managing teams
- Strong track record of high impact strategic contributions; deep expertise in finance leadership and partnership
- Passionate about using data to and rigorous analytics to drive business decisions
- Natural collaborator who knows how to drive decision-making through influence, with forward-looking and solutions-oriented approach
- Strong executive presence, thrives in ambiguous problem spaces, and comfortable making high profile decisions with incomplete information
- Proficient in SQL and either R or Python. Bonus points for experience with BigQuery, GCP, and/or analytics in cloud environments
- Significant experience with forecasting, including data-driven time series modeling techniques (e.g. ARIMA, exponential smoothing, time series decomposition)
- Experience with Looker, Tableau, or other data visualization softwares
- Previous participation in the budgeting and forecasting process at a company of similar or larger size to Etsy
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Data/Strategic Finance Analysts responsible for Forecasting and Business Insights and SEC reporting
- Forecasting and Business Insights: responsible for our Gross Merchandise Sales outlook; this includes: (1) shaping the overall narrative for marketplace health, (2) helping to influence investment decisions, and (2) leading on investigations into business decisions
- SEC Reporting: provide analytics support to our Accounting and Investor Relations teams as a part of our quarterly earnings process (SEC filings, earnings presentations, etc), helping translate our internal strategy into clear narratives for investors & business partners
- Ad Hoc Projects: Dig deeper into both financial & broader ad hoc projects that unlock new insights, drive a deeper understanding of new opportunity areas for growth, and help shape strategic decisions amongst senior leadership
