Executive Director – Edenton, NC

About the role

The New Edenton Housing Authority is seeking an Executive Director to take over the leadership of a 100-unit Public Housing agency in Edenton, North Carolina. The position is being vacated by the current director, who is retiring.

Responsibilities

• Solve problems for elderly and family residents, the general public, and vendors
• Enforce and monitor adopted housing policies
• Work with the Board
• Show sensitivity to the problems and concerns of resident groups and the needs of people of various socio-economic backgrounds
• Be knowledgeable of current state and local housing laws, rules, and HUD regulations and procedures
• Possess excellent management, interpersonal, and community relations skills, as well as affordable housing strategies
• Identify opportunities to generate capital for housing programs
• Manage all aspects of the Housing Authority's operation and staff
• Hold a Public Housing Manager’s Certification or be committed to obtaining one within one year
• Have a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Services, or a related field, and at least two years of administrative experience in housing, housing management, public housing development, or a related field
