Community Leadership & Relationship Building
- Serve as the public face and primary spokesperson for Tikkun Ha-Ir, representing the organization at community events, meetings, and collaborative initiatives
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Jewish organizations, community partners, funders, congregations, volunteers, and civic leaders.
- Strengthen partnerships that advance the organization’s mission and expand its impact
Fundraising & Resource Development
- Responsible for annual fundraising efforts, including individual donor cultivation and stewardship.
- Identify, write, and manage grant opportunities.
- Work with the Board of Directors to develop and implement fundraising strategies.
- Build a culture of philanthropy that inspires investment in Tikkun Ha-Ir’s mission.
Program & Mission Advancement
- Oversee Tikkun Ha-Ir’s programs and initiatives, including food justice, volunteer engagement, educational programming, and civic engagement efforts.
- Collaborate with staff, volunteers, and partners to evaluate and strengthen programs.
- Ensure organizational activities align with the mission, values, and strategic priorities.
Organizational Leadership & Operations
- Manage day-to-day operations of the organization.
- Supervise staff, consultants, interns, and volunteers.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and mission-driven organizational culture.
- Ensure compliance with nonprofit best practices.
Financial Stewardship & Board Partnership
- Work closely with the Treasurer and Board to develop and monitor the annual budget and monthly financial reports.
- Maintain the financial health and sustainability of the organization.
- Provide regular reports and updates to the Board of Directors.
What We’re Looking For
- Deep knowledge of Jewish values, traditions, and communal life.
- Passion for community building, social justice, and service.
- Experience in nonprofit leadership, community organizing, fundraising, education, or related fields.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience managing projects, volunteers, staff, or teams.
- Proven ability of fundraising, donor engagement, and grant writing.
- Experience in building relationships across diverse communities.
- Familiarity with the Milwaukee community and nonprofit landscape.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Masters in Nonprofit Management, Public Policy, Community Leadership or related field highly desirable
- Three or more years of nonprofit, community, educational, congregational, or related leadership experience.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

About Tikkun Ha-Ir and WIVEC
- Tikkun Ha-Ir is a Jewish social justice organization, which engages the local Jewish community to be active, thoughtful residents of the Milwaukee area and is currently focussing on voter engagement.
- TIkkun Ha-Ir (THI) is seeking two motivated, community-driven individuals to serve as Sunday Organizers for the Neighborhood Pop-Up Project in Milwaukee.
Position Overview
- The Neighborhood Pop-Up Project brings voter registration and education resources directly to Milwaukee residents each Sunday from August 30-November 10 (10 Sundays total-4 hour shift each Sunday).
- Organizers will lead pop-up events, support volunteers, and serve as a welcoming, nonpartisan presence for voters of all backgrounds.
Responsibilities
- Help lead and coordinate Neighborhood Pop-Up events at Milwaukee-area community locations each Sunday August 30 – November 1.
- Bring tables and materials to area events, with set up and clean up
- Staff resource tables and engage community members — especially reluctant or first-time voters — in a welcoming, nonpartisan, and respectful manner
- Support and assist volunteers throughout each event
- Assist community members with voter registration verification and new registration on-site
- Distribute voter education materials including flyers, stickers, magnets, and other outreach items
- Communicate with professional staff before and after events as needed
Qualifications
- Commitment to civic engagement, voting rights, and community service
- Warm, approachable presence with the ability to engage respectfully with people of diverse backgrounds and perspectives — including reluctant or politically conflicted voters — without expressing personal opinions
- Reliable and punctual — must be available for 10 Sundays from August 30-November 10
- Prior experience in organizing, canvassing, or community outreach is a plus, but not required
- Must be willing to complete THI training on voter engagement and nonpartisan values
