About the role
The Executive Director (ED) serves as the senior operational leader for BoozmanHof Eye Care and is responsible for the overall performance of the organization’s clinical, operational, administrative, and business functions. Reporting directly to the physician ownership Board, the ED will oversee the organization's day-to-day operations while partnering closely with physician leadership to develop and execute the long-term strategic vision of the practice.
Responsibilities
- Provide executive oversight for all practice operations, including clinics, optical, business office, revenue cycle, facilities, IT, and support functions.
- Partner with physician leadership on strategic planning, governance initiatives, and organizational growth.
- Develop and implement operational strategies that support continued expansion, including future clinic locations and ASC growth.
- Establish clear accountability structures, reporting relationships, and performance expectations throughout the organization.
- Lead and develop department leaders across operations, finance, revenue cycle, HR, marketing, patient access, and clinical support services.
- Create and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across patient access, throughput, financial performance, staffing, revenue cycle, physician productivity, and patient satisfaction.
- Evaluate workflows, systems, and processes to improve operational efficiency and scalability.
- Support physician recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and retention initiatives.
- Work closely with leadership to ensure strong communication and alignment between physicians, administrators, and staff.
- Oversee budgeting, financial planning, operational reporting, and resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory, accreditation, and risk management requirements.
- Support implementation and optimization of technology platforms including Athena, Nextech, QuickBooks, and future operational systems.
- Facilitate leadership meetings, operational reviews, and strategic planning sessions utilizing EOS or similar accountability frameworks.
- Partner with ASC leadership to support surgical volume growth, operational efficiency, and future expansion opportunities.
- Foster a culture centered on accountability, compassion, teamwork, continuous improvement, and exceptional patient care.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, or related field required.
- Master’s degree (MBA, MHA, or related discipline) preferred.
- Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive healthcare leadership experience.
- Prior executive leadership experience within a multi-site physician practice environment strongly preferred.
- Ophthalmology, optometry, ASC, or specialty physician practice experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience leading organizational growth, operational improvement initiatives, and leadership development.
- Strong understanding of physician practice financials, budgeting, revenue cycle management, and operational analytics.
- Exceptional leadership, coaching, and team-development capabilities.
- Strong financial and operational acumen.
- Able to influence and collaborate with physician owners and executive stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage organizational change while preserving culture.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $160,000 - $190,000, dependent upon skills and experience.
