Governance & Board Relations
Partner with the Board of Directors to develop and implement the organization’s strategic plan.
Advise and inform the Board on emerging issues in school district HR, membership trends, financial status, and risk management.
Support Board committees and ensure effective governance practices.
Implement policies established by the Board and ensure organizational compliance with bylaws and applicable laws.
Strategic Leadership & Planning
Provide vision and leadership to advance the association’s mission and long-term sustainability.
Identify trends and challenges impacting school district HR and develop responsive programs and services.
Led strategic initiatives to enhance membership value, engagement, and growth.
Operations & Staff Management
Direct and supervise a team of five staff members, fostering a collaborative, accountable, and inclusive workplace culture.
Oversee day-to-day operations, including membership services, communications, events, and administrative functions.
Establish performance expectations and support professional development for staff.
Sure effective internal systems, workflows, and technology use.
Financial Management
Develop and manage the annual budget in partnership with the Board and finance committee.
Ensure sound fiscal practices, including financial reporting, audits, internal controls, and compliance.
Oversee revenue generation strategies, including membership dues, sponsorships, partnerships, and events.
Monitor financial performance and recommend adjustments as needed to ensure long-term sustainability.
Membership & Program Development
Ensure the delivery of high-quality professional development programs, conferences, workshops, and networking opportunities.
Maintain strong member engagement and satisfaction through responsive services and communications.
Evaluate and enhance programs to meet evolving needs of school district HR professionals.
Advocacy & External Relations
Serve as the primary spokesperson and representative of the association.
Build and maintain strategic partnerships with educational organizations, vendors, policymakers, and related professional groups.
Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting school district HR and inform membership as appropriate.
Promote the association’s visibility and reputation within the education and HR communities.
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations governing nonprofit and membership organizations.
Oversee contracts, insurance, and risk management processes.
Maintain ethical standards and transparency in all organizational activities.
