About the Role

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is seeking applicants for the position of Executive Administrative Assistant 1 (EAA1). This position reports to the Executive Administrative Assistant 2 in the Executive Directors office and supports the Wildlife Resources Deputy Director of Field Services and the Wildlife Resources Deputy Director of Business Operations. This is an on-site position located at 5107 Edmondson Pike in Nashville, TN.

Who We Are

The Mission of the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is to preserve, conserve, manage, protect, and enhance the fish and wildlife of the state and their habitats for the use, benefit, and enjoyment of the citizens of Tennessee and its visitors. The Agency will foster the safe use of the state's waters through a program of law enforcement, education, and access. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency has come a long way since it was established in 1949 and was called the Game and Fish Commission. Completely reorganized in 1974, it now consists of more than 700 professionals dedicated to the preservation, conservation, and enhancement of Tennessee's fish and wildlife for the enjoyment of all Tennesseans and our visitors.

Responsibilities

  • On behalf of the agency directors, communicates with the Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission, the Governors office, the Legislature, agency management and regional offices, other State departments, non-governmental groups, the public, and any other stakeholders.
  • Supports the directors by preparing reports and records, monitoring projects, note taking, responding to incoming communications, maintaining executive calendars, assisting with special projects, and otherwise ensuring that the directors office is up to date on all matters.
  • Schedules and supports official public meetings of the Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission. Works with vendors to reserve locations, rooms, and meals, prepares meeting agendas, sets up meeting spaces, prepares monthly updates to the commission books, and coordinates all necessary materials for the 13 members of the commission as well as the Executive Director.
  • On behalf of the Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission, submits all travel reimbursement documents following each official meeting. Ensures all reimbursement rates are accurate, all necessary receipts are included, and all expense reports are submitted and approved.
  • In support of the directors office, monitors and completes Edison duties including performance evaluations, travel authorizations and expense reports, time and labor entries, and Pcard statement reconciliations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree and 2+ years of full-time professional staff administrative experience or related work.
  • For this executive service position, the acceptable minimum qualifications are determined by the appointing authority.

Pay & Schedule

  • Salary: $5100/month to $7646/month
