EVS - Housekeeping Worker

About the role

The Housekeeping Worker provides a safe, sanitary, and attractive environment for patients, staff, and visitors at the Commonwealth Center for Children and Adolescents.

Schedule

This position will provide environmental services on the second shift with the following hours:

  • 7:00 am – 3:30 pm
  • 6:00 am – 2:30 pm
  • 11:30 am – 8:00 pm
  • 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm

Includes rotating weekends. The housekeeping worker will be mainly stationed at CCCA and work under the supervisor assigned to CCCA.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning bathrooms, bedrooms, and dayrooms
  • Floor finishing
  • Cleaning and operating housekeeping equipment

Requirements

  • General knowledge and skills in housekeeping tasks
  • Experience in housekeeping preferred
  • Valid Operator’s License desirable

Pay

Starting pay from $35,524 - $49,024 per year.

Additional Considerations

  • A fingerprint-based criminal history check and reference checks are required for the selected candidate.
  • Under Virginia Code 37.2-314 and 37.2-408.1, the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services is prohibited from employing or using as volunteers, persons who have been convicted of specific “barrier” crimes or persons who may be the subject of pending “barrier” charges.
  • DBHDS facilities are no longer required to ensure that all staff members are vaccinated against COVID-19, but employees may be required to disclose immunization status for purposes of infection prevention and/or management of outbreaks.
