EVS Associate - Jefferson Torresdale (Part-time)

About the role

The Environmental Services (EVS) Associate is responsible for maintaining a high quality standard of housekeeping in assigned areas. This includes cleaning, disposing of biohazards, and ensuring a safe and sanitary environment.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistently with Jefferson’s values.
• Establishes and maintains a clean, sanitary, and safe environment in assigned work areas.
• Handles the proper disposal of biohazards according to EPA and OSHA codes and regulations.
• Maintains equipment, clean carts, buckets, floor machines, other equipment, and supply closets to ensure a professional appearance.
• Complies with personal protective equipment requirements and follows hand hygiene policies.
• Completes and maintains carpet and hard surface flooring in accordance with departmental procedures.
• Observes safety precautions and reports faulty equipment.
• Utilizes wet floor signs to prevent accidents.
• Communicates with patients and visitors courteously.
• Aids in moving furniture, equipment, supplies, recycling, and set-ups.
• Responds to pages or phone calls promptly.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or equivalent preferred.
• 6 months to 1 year of experience in housekeeping or cleaning in a healthcare environment preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow hospital/departmental policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of safety policies and practices.
• Basic computer skills.

Skills

• Attention to detail.
• Physical stamina for manual labor.
• Good communication skills.
