Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor the eVolv Express® weapons detection system and related access control equipment
- Cover interior and exterior patrols across galleries, lobby areas, waterfront spaces, grounds, and parking areas
- Screen all guests, staff, contractors, and vendors entering the facility
- Verify identification, credentials, deliveries, and authorized access
- Perform secondary screening procedures in accordance with IAAM protocols
- Manage visitor flow to ensure safe, efficient entry
- Provide exceptional customer service and warmly welcome all visitors
- Aid with wayfinding, ADA accommodations, and general inquiries
- Observe and report suspicious behavior, prohibited items, and safety concerns
- Respond appropriately to incidents (medical, fire, weather, disturbances, evacuations, etc.)
- Support emergency response efforts and coordinate with first responders
- Complete Daily Activity Reports (DARs) and incident documentation accurately
- Assist with crowd management during events, school visits, and high-traffic periods
Minimum Qualifications
- A SC SLED Unarmed Security License is REQUIRED
- A High School Diploma or GED
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations
- CPR, AED, and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Basic computer skills and report writing ability
- Strong attention to detail and professionalism with confidential information
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in security, law enforcement, military, hospitality, or customer service
- Experience with access control or weapons detection systems
- Experience working in museums, cultural institutions, hotels, or public venues
