About the Role
As an Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) Driver at Delta Medical Transport, you will play a vital role in safely transporting patients to and from medical facilities, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout the journey. You will operate specialized emergency vehicles with precision and adherence to safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate emergency vehicles, including ambulances and medical transport vans, in compliance with all traffic laws and company policies.
- Transport patients to and from medical facilities, ensuring a smooth and comfortable ride while maintaining patient safety at all times.
- Adhere to established routes and schedules to ensure timely arrival and departure for patient appointments and transfers.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, healthcare professionals, and EMTs to coordinate patient pickups, drop-offs, and route adjustments as needed.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the safety and functionality of all equipment and systems.
- Assist with loading and unloading patients on stretchers and ambulances, ensuring proper securing and comfort during transport.
- Provide courteous and professional customer service to patients and their families, addressing any concerns or questions before transit.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Successful completion of an accredited Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC).
- Current CPR certification.
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety and precision.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver patients and medical equipment as needed.
