Evidence Redaction Aide (Administrative Aide) - Law Department

With over 14,000 employees across 41 departments, the City is seeking an Evidence Redaction Aide within the Prosecutor's Office of the Law Department. This role supports the prosecution of misdemeanor crimes such as DUI, domestic violence, shoplifting, and trespass by preparing case evidence for attorneys.
Responsibilities
- Perform digital redaction of documents and audio/video recordings, including body-worn camera footage, in compliance with Arizona Law and Court Rules.
- Review audio/video evidence and prepare notes on factual content, flagging probative footage for further review by paralegals or attorneys.
- Process evidentiary documents for cases.
- Retrieve, sort, and distribute materials.
- Contact victims and witnesses.
Work is performed under the general direction of an Administrative Assistant I or Legal Assistant Supervisor, with performance evaluated based on results.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a cubicle environment, including sitting for extended periods.
- Strong computer skills, interpretation and decision-making abilities, attention to detail, verbal and written communication skills, and time management to meet strict deadlines.
Requirements
- Four years of experience performing clerical duties.
- OR a Bachelor's degree in public or business administration or a related field.
- Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
- All finalists are subject to a criminal background check applicable to the position. Candidates receiving a conditional offer of employment must be fingerprinted for a criminal history records check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Redaction software experience (audio/video).
- Experience with investigative and interviewing techniques, Rules of Court, Evidence, Discovery, Victims' Rights, legal terminology, and the criminal justice process.
- Bilingual in Spanish is desirable.
Pay
Pay Range: $20.92 to $35.78 per hour.
Hiring Range: $20.92 to $30.92 per hour.
The actual salary offer will consider factors such as skills, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, training, and internal equity.
