Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file court documents
  • Understand and navigate court procedures
  • Assist with hearing preparation
  • Monitor case statuses
  • Submit filing fee check requests

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Prior knowledge of the eviction process preferred
  • Legal experience preferred, but not required
  • Ability to communicate professionally with clerks, judges, and attorneys
  • Understanding/learning eviction law and local jurisdictional requirements

Qualifications

  • Proficient in software tools, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet-based applications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders
  • Identifies and resolves issues in a timely and effective manner
  • Works well as a team player and assists others within the department as needed
  • Hightly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Counsious with respect to work quality, deadlines, time management, and attendance
  • Takes initiative when faced with obstacles by identifying needs and proactively taking action
  • Analytical and detail-oriented while working efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Buils professional relationships and establishes rapport with colleagues and clients
  • Exhibits a strong work ethic and adaptability in response to change

Skills

  • Paralegal support to attorneys and the Eviction Department
  • Preparing, serving, and monitoring legal notices
  • Preparing, filing, and serving summons and complaints
  • Communicating with clients regarding litigation matters via email and phone
  • Managing and updating client case management systems
  • Verifying property addresses using foreclosure documents
  • Reviewing leases and ledgers, and preparing rent demands
  • Handling incoming phone calls from defendants, clients, court clerks, and sheriffs
