About the role

The Clemson University College of Education seeks highly qualified candidates to fill part-time, as-needed course instruction needs in the Department of Teaching and Learning. This opportunity involves teaching one or more courses during spring, summer, and/or fall terms, with modalities ranging from in-person to asynchronous online. The start date varies based on departmental teaching needs.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in undergraduate program areas, including:
    • Early Childhood Education
    • Elementary Education
    • Middle Level Education (Language Arts, Social Studies, Mathematics, and Science)
    • Secondary Education (English, Mathematics, Social Studies/History, and Science)
    • Modern Languages Education (American Sign Language, French, and Spanish)
  • Teach graduate-level courses in:
    • Master of Arts in Teaching Programs (Middle Level, Secondary, and Modern Languages)
    • Master of Education Program in Teaching and Learning
  • For qualified applicants, provide instruction in doctoral-level content, including dissertation writing and support.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to inclusive teaching and creating an inclusive learning environment.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a related field (minimum qualification)
  • Doctoral or terminal degree in a related field (required to teach in graduate-level programs)
  • Expertise in content aligned with a departmental program area
  • Commitment to working alongside persons with diverse backgrounds

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous higher education teaching experience
  • Experience teaching in the modality in which the course is offered
  • Practical experience in an applied field aligned with a departmental program area
