About the Role
The Events/Banquet Server will set up, execute, and clean events/banquets while maintaining a professional appearance and a “ready to serve” attitude. This role provides exceptional customer service throughout the event to ensure the highest member/guest satisfaction standard.
Responsibilities
- Performs related event/banquet set-up tasks in accordance with the Banquet Event Order (BEO).
- Able to read and understand a Banquet Event Order (BEO).
- Anticipates guests’ needs and exceeds customer service expectations.
- Ability to quickly adapt to last-minute changes and requests.
- Takes beverage orders and serves food in the specified station.
- Pours and refills wine, coffee, water, and other beverages served with and after the meal.
- Clears soiled dishes as needed.
- Cleans all assigned work areas in the kitchen and banquet areas.
- Advises supervisor of any member or guest complaints as soon as they occur.
- Assists in closing functions such as removing linen, bussing glasses, dishes, silverware, etc., and re-setting the room for the next function.
- Attends staff meetings including pre-service (line-up) sessions.
- Consistently follows all food safety-related requirements.
- Completes other appropriate tasks as assigned by the Events Manager/Supervisor and other Food and Beverage leadership team members.
- Under the direction of the Events/Banquet Manager, sets up, executes, and resets all events and event spaces ensuring the cleanliness and organization of front-of-house (FOH) and back-of-house (BOH).
- Executes all service types (e.g., Russian, French, American, buffet) to create “wow” moments and ensure member and guest satisfaction.
- Ensures compliance with all state and local laws, club policies, and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages.
- Helps maintain a dining ambiance with an enthusiastic attitude.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior banquet/event service in a fast-paced, high-volume events environment is preferred.
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age or older.
- Food safety and alcohol beverage certification preferred.

- Ability to balance multiple projects and strong project/time management skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Aptitude for working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to work autonomously, take direction, and exercise good judgment.
- Ability to reason and apply common-sense understanding to situations encountered.
- High level of professionalism and interpersonal skills to communicate and work well with employees at all levels within the organization while maintaining confidentiality.
- Use of tact and diplomacy when dealing with others.
- Fluent in English with the ability to read, write, and communicate clearly using proper grammar and diction over the telephone.
- Ability to simultaneously process routine daily functions, resolve sensitive issues, and complete complex assignments using above-average critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work overtime as necessary.
Physical Demands
The physical demands of this position include being both mobile and stationary throughout the workday and having the ability to transport up to fifty (50) pounds.
