Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the setup of banquet tables, chairs, linens, and décor in accordance with event specifications.
- Set up buffet stations, beverage stations, and service areas as directed by the Catering manager or banquet captain.
- Ensure all table settings are arranged according to the club’s standards.
- Aid in the breakdown and cleaning of banquet areas after the event concludes.
Guest Service
- Greet guests in a polite and friendly manner, ensuring they feel welcomed and comfortable.
- Serve food and beverages to guests in a timely and efficient manner, maintaining a high level of professionalism.
- Respond promptly to guest requests and ensure satisfaction with food and beverage offerings.
- Maintain awareness of guest needs throughout the event, proactively offering assistance and addressing any issues that arise.
- Serve food courses and beverages as per event guidelines.
- Clear and reset tables as necessary between courses.
- Ensure food and beverages are presented in a visually appealing and consistent manner.
- Safely handle and transport food and beverage items to avoid spillage or accidents.
Teamwork & Communication
- Work closely with other banquet servers, kitchen staff, and catering coordinators to ensure smooth event operations.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks.
- Maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with both guests and colleagues.
Health & Safety Compliance
- Ensure all food and beverage handling meets the health and safety standards of the country club.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain clean and sanitary work areas at all times.
- Follow all club policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Post-Event Duties
- Assist with the cleanup of banquet areas, ensuring all equipment and supplies are returned to storage.
- Assist with inventory management and ensure that all supplies are replenished for future events.
- Report any issues or concerns to the Banquet Manager or Event Coordinator.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience as a banquet server or in a high-end hospitality environment preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
- Professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy trays and equipment (up to 25 pounds).
- Flexible schedule with availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Knowledge of food and beverage service, including wine and cocktail offerings, is a plus.
