About the role

Home to Ironstone Ranch, St. Michael’s Vineyard, and The Star Barn, Stone Gables Estate offers a one‑of‑a‑kind historic setting for events such as weddings and receptions, corporate events, train rides, horseback riding, and public community events. As a faith‑based ministry and business, we operate with purpose: 100 % of net profits support abandoned children worldwide. This long‑term part‑time position assists with Stone Gables Estate’s public and private events, including The National Christmas Center, and serves as event staff for weddings and other functions.

Responsibilities

• Set up and tear down wedding venues, including moving tables, chairs, linens, and emptying trash cans; weddings are booked year‑round with seasonality.
• Park cars and direct traffic.
• Drive golf carts.
• Greet guests.
• Occasionally handle animals such as horses, alpacas, pigs, sheep, etc.
• Set up and tear down the petting zoo.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Must be available to work Fridays and Saturdays.
• Must be able to work 2‑3 shifts per week.
• Must be able to work a minimum of three weekends per month.
• Strong interpersonal skills are required because the position interacts with guests.

Regularly required to sit or walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk, hear; lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; use peripheral vision; depth perception; ability to adjust focus; work in wet or humid conditions and outdoor weather conditions. Frequently required to stand, climb, or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk, smell; lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; use distance vision. Subject to cleaning chemicals and may be exposed to fumes and airborne particles. Occasionally required to lift and/or move over 100 pounds with team assistance or equipment, work in high places. Noise level is usually moderate to loud.
