Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) per MCL 338.106717(2). (Must also be at least 21 years old and be a Michigan CPL or LEOSA cardholder to perform armed security work)
  • Must not have been convicted of any felonies, per MCL 338.106010(1)(c)
  • Must not have been convicted of any misdemeanors related to dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapons, unauthorized sale of information or evidence, controlled substances (including marijuana), or two or more alcohol related offenses, per MCL 338.106010(1)(c)
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening at the time of hire and randomly thereafter (including marijuana)
  • Must adhere to the company's Uniform and Appearance policy and present a friendly, positive, and professional image
  • Must possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to de-escalate situations in a non-confrontational manner. Must be able to fluently read, write, speak, and understand the English language
  • If driving company or client vehicles, or using your own vehicle for work activities, must possess a valid State of Michigan driver's license with less than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years, less than 2 at-fault accidents in the last 3 years, and no other major violations in the last 3 years
  • Must be willing to become CPR/First Aid/AED certified and capable of administering care in emergency situations
  • Must be able to move quickly, including running short distances, to respond in emergency situations
  • Must be physically and mentally sound and able to remain alert while on duty. (Armed security officers must complete a psychological evaluation upon hire)
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and walk long distances, including navigating stairs, for the duration of the shift (8-12 hours)
  • Must be able to work indoors or outdoors during all seasons
  • Must be able to use hands and fingers to manipulate keys, tools, and other equipment
  • Must be able to hear conversations (in person or via 2-way radio) in noisy environments
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds (70 lbs. if working as an armed security officer)
  • Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision

Current openings: Evenings / Weekends with limited day shifts available. Location: Clarkston, MI - Southeast Michigan.

Pay

Rate of Pay: $18.00/hour (site dependent)
