About the role
Event Staff Security Officers utilize their outstanding customer service skills to provide crowd control services for events such as concerts, sporting events, trade shows, and conferences at various locations. Officers ensure the safety of patrons, employees, and visitors at both large and small-scale events.
Current openings include evenings and weekends with limited day shifts. Officers are scheduled for a minimum of 4-6 events per month.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of patrons, guests, and performers.
- Provide hospitality security with all clients, guests, and co-workers.
- Manage access control and follow venue-specific guidelines.
- Conduct foot patrols as required.
- Read and interpret written post guidelines, follow procedures, and complete all tasks throughout the shift.
- Use de-escalation techniques to defuse situations through communication tactics.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old or older.
- Must have a high school diploma or GED.
- Must not have any felony convictions and must pass a criminal background check in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Must be available to work at minimum 4+ events per month.
- Must have excellent customer service and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications
Success as an Event Staff Security Officer at DK Security includes:

Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand or walk for 4–8-hour shifts.
- Must be readily able to respond to emergency situations.
- Must be able to work outdoors during operational hours.
- Must be able to hear conversations (in person or via 2-way radio) in noisy environments.
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Pay
Rate of pay: $18.50/hour.

Shuttle service is offered to transport employees to and from various designated parking locations to the Amphitheater.
Schedule
Minimum of 4-6 events per month, primarily evenings and weekends with limited day shifts.
Location
Downtown and Metro Grand Rapids, MI event venues.
