Event Setup Coordinator
What You'll Be Doing
Responsible for setting up meeting and banquet rooms for special events in accordance with standard procedures under close supervision. This includes moving furniture and equipment, with some heavy lifting required. Oversees the preparation and arrangement of event spaces for scheduled functions and responds to requests for additional furnishings such as tables, chairs, lecterns, and related equipment. Works collaboratively with Events Office staff and clients to ensure setups meet customer specifications. Communicates routine issues and reports unusual problems to a supervisor. The position may require occasional overtime and outdoor work for special events.
What We're Looking For
Education and Experience
- Qualified Candidates Will Need:
- A high school diploma/GED
- 1+ year service worker or equivalent experience with stable work history
Skills Needed
- Strong competencies in work standards and productivity, communication, interpersonal and intercultural relations, decision-making, and dependability
- Additional competencies may include financial awareness, coaching, delegation, and planning
- Basic math skills and strong attention to detail
- Ability to lift and move up to 30 lbs frequently and up to 60 lbs occasionally
- Ability to climb stairs and stand, walk, reach, and stoop for extended periods
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, demonstrating teamwork and HFS ACTS principles
