Event Security - Conventions

About the role

We’re hiring part-time Event Security to help support local events. Earn extra income on a flexible schedule that works for you. Starting pay is $15.50/hour with weekly pay, no experience required, and multiple openings available.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all aspects of event day preparation and execution.
• Allow appropriate entry into each venue; may collect and/or scan tickets, verify wristbands and badges, and direct traffic.
• Screen guests during entry via bag searching, hand wand or metal detector, and ID verification.
• Protect guests, staff, and venue assets by monitoring for security breaches at vital checkpoints.
• Respond quickly to potential crowd control issues and provide escorts for unruly guests when ejections are warranted.
• Demonstrate understanding of policies, procedures, and regulations for different venues and events.
• Provide a positive guest experience with helpful directions or suggestions to enhance their entertainment experience.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Licensing requirements vary by state/local laws and may be required prior to employment.
• Must successfully complete a background investigation and post-offer/pre-employment drug/alcohol test; additional screening may be required if driving a customer or company-owned vehicle.
• Able to use good independent judgment and discretion.
• Must be able to work overtime as needed.
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
