Event Producer
Job Overview
The Event Producer plans, executes, and evaluates a wide range of in-person, virtual, and hybrid GBH events, from high-touch major donor experiences to large-scale festivals serving the general public. Managing a robust annual portfolio of 25+ GBH and facility rental events, this role is focused on revenue generation through donor prospecting, stewardship, audience engagement, and strategic fundraising.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the management, development and execution of GBH Development events. These events will include a range of in-person, virtual and hybrid events that build on what is already established.
- Create opportunities to test new initiatives and document best practices.
- Determine fundraising and KPIs for new and recurring events, write and pitch fundraising copy, and collaborate closely with internal Pledge and Marketing teams to maximize revenue and member cultivation opportunities.
- Develop and execute a fundraising strategy and leverage data insights to inform event planning and decision-making.
- Act as a liaison between external clients and all internal departments involved in event production (e.g. Production Services, Creative, Digital, Physical Plant, etc).
- Incorporate email marketing and curate Pledge offers, pitches, and thank you gifts that maximize the revenue for each fundraising event.
- Organize and manage vendor relationships including contracting deals that defray on event expenses and increase collaborations with community groups and business partners/sponsors who participate in our events.
Skills
- Proven track record managing high-production event logistics.
- Strong project management, organization, and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage a large portfolio of events simultaneously and meet multiple competing deadlines is critical.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Collaborative, client-first mindset with ability to problem-solve under pressure.
- Able to build strong relationships both internally across the organization, as well as externally with clients and third-party vendors & events teams.
- Detail-oriented with solid documentation and record-keeping habits.
- Familiarity with venue management or CRM software and databases is highly preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Strong technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills; process oriented supporting continuous process improvements.
- Ability to balance repetitive data-entry tasks and other project oriented requests.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of experience producing events and at least 2 years of experience producing virtual events.
- Experience with Zoom Webinar is essential. Experience with other virtual event platforms is welcome.
- Experience in Marketing, Budget Oversight, Vendor Negotiation, Volunteer Management and Strategic Planning are required.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience are required.
- Experience in event management, communications, marketing, or related discipline required.
Job Specifics
- This position will require early morning, late night, and weekend work during fundraising drives.
- Staff position On-site position.
- Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Location
This position is located in Boston, MA, and requires on-site presence.
Compensation
Salary Range $57,860 - $71,000 Compensation offered within this range is determined by skills, experience and internal pay equity.
